Reflections on My Fall Semester Internship

I think this years fall semester has been the best one, because I got to be with my students since the beginning and I got to see how each learn. They have gotten to know me well enough and I have gotten to know them well enough. The thing I would have done diffrently would be on my lesson that I did because I could have done more activities with my students since I had a lot of time. The thing I've enjoyed the most has been working with most students individually. Getting to help each student with their work or reading to them really satisfied me. Helping the students out with they vocabulary, the fact that I know that, that day they learned something new from me made me glad.
The thing I would change would be to probably take more control of the class when my field site teacher is gone, and try to teach them more of what I know.

Reflections of a First Grade Intern

As the first day I walk in to my first grade classroom I really had no idea what to expect. Many things would go thru my mind like, what if my students don’t like me, what if I don’t know how to teach them well enough, or what if my teacher doesn’t like me and chooses to not have me in her class. But the moment I walked in my classroom I was received with a smile from every person in the room and I was greeted by my teacher. That really took a whole lot of weight off my back.
As time passed by I got the hang of everything, I also got the respect I wanted from my students as well as my teacher. I eventually got the trust of my teacher and she would allow me to teach a few students at a time or one. And from this experience I figured out that definitely every student has their difficulties and each one has their way of learning. When I would work with each students I would see that a had a group of students which I would have to explain things more then once and other students would get it right away.
I also had the group of students at once that each had their own learning style so I would have to think of many ways to explain how to do the work so everyone would understand. These are the kind of things that really stuck to my mind and made me realize that being a teacher isn’t a game every step you take in a challenge and you have to be willing to take it. This leads me to when I actually had to think like a teacher and be in the role of a teacher. My teacher would have something to do and she would leave me with the students for a while and I had to mange to help one student out while controlling the whole classroom so they would act out.
All that I go thru each day when I go to my field site helps me become a step closer to my dream of having my own classroom some day. Every challenge that is put in front of me I try to take it with a mature manner. Having the opportunity to see what a teacher is about is an amazing feeling you get at the end of the day, you go home with the satisfaction of knowing you helped someone do better.

The Ideal Classroom

My ideal classroom would be something like this, I would have desk were they would do their daily work so they can have something to support their books on or paper. Then I would have a place with like couches where they would go to be comfortable because there are some students that work better in a certain type of environment. There would also be a place for all the technology place were they would go to take their laptop or there will be some computers available. Also there would be like a place where they could do hands on stuff , since there are students who have different learning styles.
